Expedition Worlds
The Expedition Worlds are three custom wilderness worlds — an Overworld, a Nether, and an End — filled with exotic biomes, custom mobs, signature ores, and wild crops found nowhere else. Everything you hunt, mine, and harvest out there feeds a bigger progression: new farm plants, craftable pet stations (the Menagerie), and the Expedition Log quest line.
Getting There
- Open
/worldsand pick an Expedition World to be teleported into the wilds. - Use
/expedition infoanytime to see your current biome and zone, plus exactly which mobs and crops live there. - Crossing into a new biome flashes its name on screen so you always know where you are.
The Rules of the Wilds
- Weekly resets — All three worlds regenerate with a completely fresh landscape every week. Don't build bases or leave chests out there; haul your loot home.
- No claims — The Expedition Worlds can't be claimed. Your expedition farms and Menagerie stations belong on your claim back home.
- No vanilla mobs — Only expedition creatures spawn (spawners and breeding still work).
- No vanilla crops — Only expedition crops can be planted there.
- No placing vein blocks — Signature ore blocks can't be placed down, so every crystal is earned.
Zones & Biomes
Every biome belongs to a zone that decides what spawns, what grows, and what you can forage there.
Expedition Overworld
- Lavender Fields — Violet valleys and forests. Bloomlings roam here among wild Lavender.
- Amethyst Rainforest — Jungles where trees grow gemstones. Home of the Amethyst Stag and wild Crystal Bulbs.
- Sakura & Moonlight Groves — Pink petal groves haunted by Sakura Spirits, with wild Sakura Pods.
- Mirage Isles & Ancient Sands — Shimmering deserts where Mirage Wisps drift.
- Volcanic Peaks & Calderas — Ember Striders walk the lava flows.
- Glacial Chasms & Frozen Cliffs — Ice country roamed by Amethyst Stags.
- Skylands & Cloud Forests — Floating islands and misty peaks where Zephyr Moths flutter.
- Tropic Seas — Warm waters glittering with Gilded Koi.
- The Deep Sea — Gilded Koi swim here too... alongside the Reef Horror.
Expedition Nether
- Infernal Dunes & Volcanic Deltas — Cinderhound packs and Ember Striders, with wild Emberroot in the ash.
- Withered Forest & Weeping Valley — Withergeists haunt the deadwood among wild Withervine.
- Inverted Forest — More Withergeists in an upside-down wood.
- Quartz Flats — Ember Strider territory.
- Toxic Heap — Withergeists and wild Withervine. Hold your breath.
Expedition End
- Crystal Peaks — The only place the elite Crystalline Sentinel spawns.
- Shadowlands, The Rift & Void Barrens — Voidrays circle the dark. Wild Voidbloom grows throughout the End.
Expedition Mobs
Twelve custom-modeled creatures spawn near you as you explore. Each drops materials found nowhere else — the ingredients for Menagerie stations and pet treats:
- Bloomling (Lavender Fields) — Always drops Lavender Essence (instantly ripens an expedition crop, like bone meal), sometimes Lavender Sprig seeds.
- Amethyst Stag (Amethyst Rainforest, Glacial) — Crystal Antler Shards plus occasional Crystal Bulb Cuttings.
- Sakura Spirit (Sakura Groves) — Spirit Petals plus occasional Sakura Beans.
- Mirage Wisp (Mirage Isles) — Mirage Dust.
- Cinderhound (Infernal Dunes) — Fast and aggressive. Cinder Fangs plus occasional Emberroot Bulbs.
- Ember Strider (lava in the Nether and Volcanic zones) — Magma Plates. Bring a way to fight over lava.
- Withergeist (Withered, Toxic, Inverted) — Wither Residue plus occasional Withervine Cuttings.
- Voidray (Shadowlands, Rift, Void Barrens) — Void Membranes plus rare Voidbloom Spores.
- Gilded Koi (Tropic and Deep Seas) — Golden Scales. A sword works as well as a rod.
- Reef Horror (Deep Sea) — The Abyssal Eye.
- Zephyr Moth (Skylands, Cloud Forest) — Shimmering Moth Wings.
- Crystalline Sentinel (Crystal Peaks — ELITE) — Rare, glowing, and extremely tough. Guaranteed Prism Core (the rarest material), plus antler shards and Voidbloom Spores. Bring friends.
Signature Ores
Unmistakable ore veins are woven through each world's terrain. Mining them yields custom materials (and XP); the veins respawn across the map with every weekly reset:
- Budding Terrium veins (Overworld) — drop Terrium Crystals
- Gilded veins (Nether) — drop Infernal Alloy
- Crying veins (End) — drop Void Resin
Crops & Foraging
Six expedition crops grow wild across the zones. A fully grown plant has a glowing blossom floating above it — break it for produce and seeds.
Finding Seeds
- Wild crops — Harvesting a ripe wild plant always returns seeds along with produce.
- Wild patches — Berry bushes (Overworld), nether wart beds (Nether), and chorus blooms (End) yield the local zone's produce and often a seed.
- Foraging — Breaking grass, ferns, flowers, and roots in a matching zone has a chance to turn up a seed.
- Mob drops — Most creatures sometimes carry their zone's seeds.
The Six Crops
- Lavender (Lavender Fields) — plant Lavender Sprigs on farmland
- Crystal Bulb (Amethyst Rainforest) — plant Crystal Bulb Cuttings on farmland
- Sakura Pod (Sakura Groves) — plant Sakura Beans on farmland
- Emberroot (Infernal & Volcanic zones) — plant Emberroot Bulbs on soul soil or soul sand
- Withervine (Withered & Toxic zones) — plant Withervine Cuttings on soul soil or soul sand
- Voidbloom (anywhere in the End) — plant Voidbloom Spores on end stone
Because the worlds reset weekly, seeds also plant at home — on Earth, Mars, and Moon — on the same soil types. Right-click a planted crop with Lavender Essence to instantly ripen it.
Growstation Farming
Wild seeds can be converted into farming-system seeds with /expedition convertseeds — that's the only way to get the Expedition tier of growstation plants (they're never sold in any store). See the Farming guide for the full plant list; expedition harvests sell for $9,000–$26,000 apiece and double as pet feed at the Menagerie.
The Menagerie — Pet Stations
Mob drops craft into four stations you place on your claim (right-click a placed station to use it; you'll earn your first Tinker Table from the quest line):
Tinker Table
The crafting bench for every station and treat below. Recipe: 8 Mirage Dust + 4 Crystal Antler Shards + 2 Magma Plates.
Pet Shrine
Recipe: 8 Wither Residue + 8 Cinder Fangs + 6 Void Membranes + 1 Prism Core.
- Empower — Pay 2 Spirit Petals + 2 Wither Residue + 2 Mirage Dust to level a pet by +1.
- Ascend — A max-level pet can ascend to ✦ Radiant rank for 1 Prism Core + 4 Void Membranes + 4 Crystal Antler Shards. Radiant pets get a +5 level cap and a permanent shimmer aura.
Pet Perch
Recipe: 12 Moth Wings + 6 Spirit Petals + 4 Crystal Antler Shards + 1 Prism Core.
While placed on your claim, you can equip two pets at once via /pets. Shift-click the perch to pick it back up.
Feeding Trough
Recipe: 10 Golden Scales + 6 Magma Plates + 4 Abyssal Eyes.
Feed expedition produce to level your pets. Lavender Bunches, Crystal Bulbs, and Sakura Pods are worth 1 point each; Emberroot and Withervine Coils 2; Voidblooms 3. Higher pet levels need more points, and leftover points bank between feedings.
Pet Treats
Crafted at the Tinker Table — each gives you a buff for 30 minutes:
- Swift Treat (3 Moth Wings + 2 Sakura Pods) — Speed II
- Ferocity Treat (3 Cinder Fangs + 2 Emberroot) — Strength
- Fortune Treat (3 Golden Scales + 2 Crystal Bulbs) — Luck
- Vitality Treat (3 Spirit Petals + 2 Lavender Bunches) — Regeneration
- Golden Treat (4 Mirage Dust + 2 Voidblooms + 1 Abyssal Eye) — Instantly gives your equipped pet +1 level
The Expedition Log
Visit the Expeditioner at spawn (or use /expedition quests) for a 22-chapter quest chain covering everything above — no dailies, no time limits. Take the current quest, complete it in the wilds, come back and stamp it for the next one.
- Cash rewards grow from $2,500 (chapter 1) to $20,000 (the finale) — over $170,000 across the chain.
- Key chapters also award seeds, treats, Prism Cores, and your first Tinker Table.
- After the chain, an endless rotation of repeatable field tasks keeps paying out for hunting, foraging, and mining.
Commands
/worlds— Travel to the Expedition Worlds/expedition info— Current biome/zone and what spawns and grows there/expedition quests— Open your Expedition Log/expedition convertseeds— Convert wild seeds into growstation seeds
Tips
- Start the Expedition Log first — the quest chain naturally tours you through every zone and hands you your first Tinker Table.
- Ripe wild crops glow — scan for floating blossoms as you travel.
- Prism Cores gate the Shrine and Perch, and the Crystalline Sentinel is brutally tough. Team up for Crystal Peaks runs.
- Worlds reset weekly, so unmined veins and unharvested wilds are wasted — sweep what you find.
- Keep a stack of Lavender Essence from Bloomlings to insta-grow crops on the spot.
