Fishing
Fishing on Breeze is a fully custom system built around Gary, the fishing merchant at spawn. Buy a custom rod, catch fish with randomized lengths, upgrade your rod with special enchants, and compete in Gary's Fishing Frenzy tournaments three times a day.
Getting Started
- Visit Gary's Fishing Shop at spawn (right-click Gary, or use
/fishingshop). - Buy a fishing rod — the Old Rod costs $25,000.
- Cast into any water while holding your custom rod. Every catch is replaced with a custom fish of a random length.
- Sell your haul with
/sellor the Sell All Fish button in Gary's shop.
You can fish anywhere there's water — your base, the wild, or the spawn pond. Only tournament scoring is location-restricted (spawn world only).
The Fish
There are four regular species — Trout, Cod, Snapper, and Pufferfish — each with a random length. Longer fish are worth more: a fish's sell value is its length in inches × $50.
- Shiny Fish — Every species has a glowing ✦ Shiny ✦ variant worth $100 per inch (double value). Shinies can only be caught through the Karma rod enchant.
- The Golden Fish — A tournament-only legend. It's 10–20+ inches, sells for $500 per inch ($5,000–$10,000+), and its catch is announced to the whole server. It never bites outside a tournament.
Browse every fish, its length range, and its value in the Fish Catalog with /fish.
Rods
Five rods are available from Gary. Better rods get bites faster and add bonus inches to every fish you catch:
- Old Rod — $25,000 · +1 inch · ~6–14s bite time
- Good Rod — $50,000 · +2 inches · ~5–13.5s
- Super Rod — $100,000 · +3 inches · ~4.5–12.5s
- Ultimate Rod — $250,000 · +4 inches · ~4–11s
- Legendary Rod — $500,000 · +5 inches · ~2.5–10s
Custom rods can't be combined or enchanted in anvils or smithing tables — all upgrades go through Gary.
Rod Enchants
Hold your rod and click Upgrade Fishing Rod in Gary's shop. Each enchant level costs $10,000 more than the last ($10,000 → $20,000 → $30,000...). Upgrades belong to that specific rod.
- Lure (max 5) — Bites come 5% faster per level (25% faster at max).
- Luck of the Sea (max 5) — 1% chance per level to reel in a treasure instead of a fish: Gold Keys, Vote Keys, and 15m/30m flytime vouchers.
- Bless (max 5) — 5% chance per level to catch double fish (25% at max).
- Karma (max 5) — 1% chance per level to catch a ✦ Shiny ✦ fish (5% at max).
- Unbreaking (max 1) — Adds Unbreaking V for massive rod durability.
Gary's Fishing Frenzy — Tournaments
Three times a day, Gary hosts a 15-minute fishing tournament at the spawn pond. Tournaments auto-start at 10:00, 15:00, and 20:00 UTC (6am / 11am / 4pm ET) when 4+ players are online, with a 5-minute heads-up in chat. Only fish caught in the spawn world count.
Rotating Modes
Each tournament runs one of three modes — check the boss bar or /fishtournament:
- Gary's Favorite — Points = inches of fish caught. Shinies are worth 2x, and Gary announces a favorite fish worth 3x (a shiny favorite is 6x!). The Golden Fish is a flat 100 points.
- Big Fish Hunt — Only your single longest fish counts. The Golden Fish is the jackpot.
- Feeding Frenzy — Most fish caught wins, size doesn't matter (the Golden Fish counts as 5). Fast rods and Lure shine here.
Every tournament catch has a small chance to be the Golden Fish.
Rewards
- 1st — $25,000 + 2 Gold Keys
- 2nd — $15,000 + 1 Gold Key
- 3rd — $10,000 + 2 Vote Keys
Everyone who catches at least one fish gets $2,500 participation cash — and you keep (and can sell) everything you caught. Winners who log off before the end still receive their rewards.
Commands
/fish— Open the Fish Catalog/fishingshop— Open Gary's shop (buy rods, upgrade, sell)/sellor/sellall— Sell all fish in your inventory/fishtournament— Tournament status, current mode, your score, top 5, and the next start time
Tips
- Rod length bonuses apply to every catch, so upgrading your rod raises the value of all your fish.
- In Gary's Favorite mode, listen for the favorite fish announcement — a shiny favorite scores 6x points.
- Feeding Frenzy rewards speed over size: max Lure and the Legendary Rod's fast bites win it.
- Fishing also levels your Fishing skill for passive bonuses — see the Skills guide.
- Tournament times are staggered with OneBlock's, so you can fish both servers' tournaments back to back.
